Youth 2000 Retreat was held on October 23-25 at St. Anthonys. The leadership team was in place and ready to go. Religious sisters and friars from the Dominican order were on the leadership team and greatly enhanced the outcomes of the retreat.
Church financial Report was reviewed. It was suggested that an update on where we are in regards to the Our Faith Our Legacy campaign should be given via an insert in the bulletin. It was noted that the church holds a note with the Diocese for the center renovations in the amount of $303,000. There is a monthly payment of $2700 per year for fifteen years. The capital campaign contributions made by out parishioners will go toward the payment of this loan.
Learning and Play Station program formerly known as Mother’s Day Out was discussed. Fr. Patrick has visited with Richard Head on LPS and Richard assured Fr. Patrick that the finances were being monitored closely. It is hoped that when the economy turns around, the program will improve as well.
Other cares and concerns were brought to the attention of the council. These concerns include questions as to why the back room of the center can’t be rented. Some people feel the rental rates are too high. Both concerns were addressed by Fr. Patrick, who explained why these decisions had been made.
There was a pot-luck dinner held on November 1 to celebrate the All Saints Day. It was held at the center after the rosary held at Mount Cavalry cemetery.
